Graphic Designer (Part-time)

Ariadne Labs is a joint center of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and is a global leader in health system innovation. Our mission is to save lives and reduce suffering for people everywhere, by creating scalable systems-level solutions that improve health care.

We are seeking a creative and motivated Graphic Designer to help Ariadne Labs translate its research and ideas into visual storytelling. The Graphic Designer will develop compelling print and digital materials for internal and external audiences including marketing, outreach and educational and fundraising collateral. Projects may include visuals for research publications, digital presentations, leadership presentations, media kits, newsletters, annual reports, magazines, the website and social media. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Graphic Designer will work closely with the Project Manager, Content Lead, and Social Media Lead in addition to program teams to create engaging marketing and communications materials.

  • Build / update / format multimedia content for the Ariadne Labs website and digital channels
  • Create dynamic graphic content such as infographics, data visualizations
  • Develop research papers into designed PDF reports, with responsibility for layout, design and formatting of text, charts
  • Format slide presentations for external and internal use
  • Create designs for email newsletters and other email campaigns
  • Design marketing and fundraising collateral
  • Create dynamic, social media friendly content such as animations and short-form video
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications or related field required
  • 2-3 years in graphic design preferred
  • A strong, dynamic portfolio showcasing a refined design aesthetic
  • Experience in email design (campaign monitor and Google), ­ Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat), Google Docs, building and handling formatting in PowerPoint, Google Slides, MS Word and PPT
  • Website experience required – WordPress, HTML, web design and UI/UX experience a plus
  • Experience in information design/data visualization.
  • Experience working with complex data and scientific models is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using human-centered design is preferred
