Finance Director

Janice Little is the Finance Director overseeing financial administration and planning. She works closely with the Management Team on financial strategy while providing guidance and oversight to the organization as it relates to all finance functions, including accounting, procurement, budgeting, financial analysis/reporting, and sponsored research administration.

With over 25 years of experience in both for profit and non-profit organizations, Janice has worked in hi-tech, consulting, pharmaceutical, and health care industries with experience in finance, grants, management, and contract negotiations.

Her roles in health care includes budgeting, monthly close oversight, grants administration, operations, management, and compliance. She held various roles at Brigham and Women’s Hospital working as a Senior Accounting Analyst, Business Manager, and a Finance Administrator in the Department of Psychiatry, the Center for Nursing Excellence, and the Department of Surgery/Research, respectively – some highlights include budgeting, financial analysis, spearheading a 5S Process Improvement Project, and overseeing the grant and foundation revenue streams during the merger of three cancer cooperative groups into one.

Janice also worked at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for five and a half years in the Department of Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care as a Program Administrator prior to her promotion to a Business and Financial Administrator where she was instrumental in managing a $10M budget while containing costs. She also assisted with policies and procedures, mentored staff, and served as a member of the Leadership Council which included the Department Chair, Division Chiefs, Administrative Director, and Director of Social Work with a focus on strategy.

Prior to joining Ariadne Labs, Janice was the Director of Finance at Carney Hospital, a 159-bed community hospital, where she worked closely with the Chief Financial Officer on the annual budget, monthly close, and oversaw $150M in operating revenue with over 700 FTEs. She served as a member of the senior leadership team working on strategic initiatives and served as an Administrator On-Call providing leadership support after hours.

Janice received a B.S. in Management with a concentration in Finance from the University of Massachusetts/Boston, and an MBA from Simmons College.
