Kizzy Scott, MBA is the Assistant Director, Research Finance and Administration on the Finance Team at Ariadne Labs. With over 15+ years of professional experience, she is responsible for the overall financial management, fiscal oversight and compliance for three research programs and unrestricted accounts. She works closely with the programs/platforms from proposal development to budget development to managing complex contract negotiations to invoice collection and account reconciliation in collaboration with Central Research Administration Offices at BWH and Harvard’s Office of Sponsored Programs. She also leads the post-award monitoring, budgeting forecasting, and reporting activities, ensuring compliance with hospital, university and sponsor policies. Kizzy also provides leadership and training to hospital/university faculty and staff, to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Kizzy provides direct supervision to the Grants Coordinator activities that include budget analysis, financial projections, and reporting, corporate card expenditure tracking, reconciliation, and employee expense reimbursements. She meets regularly with PIs and ADPMs to provide the financial oversight of the program’s spending and monitors and tracks revenue and processes payroll to ensure staff is properly allocated to the appropriate research projects to support the program needs. She also liaises with our two parent companies to support contracting and formal agreements with strategic partners, (Billing Agreements, Data Use Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, and MOUs) to make certain that they meet both the sponsor, institutional compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Kizzy also serves as a co-chair to the Diversity & Inclusion Committee and is a member of the Cultures and Values Committee.
Prior to joining Ariadne Labs, Kizzy worked as a Research Finance Manager at Brigham & Women’s Hospitals in the Ann Romney Center for Neurologic Diseases supporting 5 principal investigators. During this time she managed a $20M+ portfolio of federal and industry awards, gifts and contracts for a multi-disciplinary research team. Kizzy also worked for five years as a Senior Grants Manager in the Development Office at the United Way of Massachusetts Bay & Merrimack Valley in which she was responsible for prospect research, writing proposals and grant reports. In this role she managed a portfolio of approximately 100 private donors, family and government foundations (generates approximately $5M + annually and provided financial oversight of the UW’s annual Basic Needs campaign and Family Financial Stability Program.
Kizzy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Finance and an MBA degree from Simmons University.
