When global health crises emerge, a timely, evidence-based response is critical. Ariadne’s proven model of innovation and diverse expertise allow us to respond quickly and effectively during times of crisis. Grounded in more than a decade of experience in health systems innovation, we are able to quickly convene global experts, synthesize best practices, design and test effective, user-centric solutions, and disseminate our work widely through our numerous networks and channels.
In 2009 our co-founder Atul Gawande, MD, MPH, responded to the H1N1 outbreak with a rapidly developed patient care checklist. As Ebola spread throughout Africa in 2014, Ariadne Labs collaborated on the development of a standardized Ebola safety checklist for medical personnel. When the opioid crisis claimed lives across the US, a team from Ariadne Labs partnered with the CDC to release a checklist to encourage safe prescribing practices. And in 2020, during a time of global uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, Ariadne’s experts mobilized to fill gaps in public health information and provide clarity on best practices for testing, vaccine delivery, community mitigation, serious illness, and surgical care.
