Communication and Resolution Programs (CRPs) have many names. Some commonly used names include CANDOR and CARe. Healthcare organizations sometimes have their own branded CRP with its own acronym. We know that many people, particularly patients and families, do not prefer the common usage of “Communication and Resolution Program,” which may seem reductive by implying that everything can be fixed with communication or even offensive by implying that resolution is possible for families who have lost loved ones. Other terms are being considered and we expect to see more alternative names in the future.
