Kate Miller, PhD, MPH, is a Senior Scientist on the Science & Technology platform. Kate supports quantitative research designs, statistical analyses and mixed-methods approaches across Ariadne’s research portfolio, and takes a lead role in the support of scientific rigor at the Labs. Kate infuses her daily work with data visualization, the joy of discovery, and the occasional highly tasteful joke.
Before joining Ariadne in November 2016, Kate was Director of Population Health at Optum Patient Insights, leading a strategic effort to support patient-reported outcomes in population health management following the Affordable Care Act. Previously, Kate’s work focused on measurement of reproductive health care quality in sub-Saharan Africa and the US, working first at the Population Council and later at Ibis Reproductive Health, where she also served on the Senior Management Team.
Kate’s background is in statistics, research design, health quality measurement, and reproductive health services. She earned her MPH in Population and Family Health at Columbia University and PhD in Demography from the University of Pennsylvania as a William Penn Fellow.
