Ariadne Labs Executive Director Atul Gawande delivered a keynote address at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists World Congress in Cape Town. The March 21 address drew more than 2,500 maternal health clinicians from around the world. In his talk, Dr. Gawande explored how a simple tool – a checklist — can transform the communication, culture and practice of clinical teams to lead to better health outcomes. He also described Ariadne Labs’ work in implementing and testing the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist and the WHO Safe Childbirth Checklist.
