Judy Margo
Judy Margo, DrPH, MPH is a Senior Qualitative Specialist on the Science and Technology Platform at Ariadne Labs. In this role, Judy provides qualitative methodology expertise and technical support to programs and projects across Ariadne Labs, as well as management support within the Science and Technology Platform.
Previously, Judy managed the Maternal and Child Health Center of Excellence at Boston University School of Public Health, provided both project management and qualitative support for a series of studies on improving gestational diabetes care in an urban safety net hospital, and has consulted on needs assessment and evaluation projects in a variety of settings. She has experience in direct service in a small urban setting as a counselor in both reproductive health and harm reduction, in addition to providing HIV prevention/harm reduction services data management and management of a syringe exchange program. She was awarded the Shannon Lowney Memorial Scholarship from Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts to support her MPH studies, a Maternal and Child Health Center of Excellence scholarship (MCH Bureau, HRSA) to support her doctoral studies, and a Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology award (MCH Bureau, HRSA) to support her dissertation work. Judy currently sings with and serves as Vice President on the Board of Coro Allegro, a Boston-based LGBTQ+ and allies classical chorus.
Judy completed a BA in sociology and women’s studies at Skidmore College, an MPH in sociomedical sciences at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and a Doctor of Public Health degree at Boston University. Her dissertation focused on a qualitative assessment of patient pathways to abortion care in South Carolina to inform a provider-facing abortion referral training program by Provide, Inc.
