Michelle Williams

Michelle Williams, ScD, SM, MS, is the Dean of Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Prior to her appointment as Dean, Williams was the chair of the Epidemiology Department and a Stephen B. Kay Family Professor of Public Health and Global Health and Population at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She has received countless awards for her work including the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Mentoring.

Graduating from Princeton University with an AB in Biology and Developmental Genetics, Williams then received her MS from Tufts University in Civil Engineering and Public Health, an SM from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in demography and populations sciences, and an ScD from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Epidemiology. She conducted her postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Washington School of Public Health and Community Medicine where she would later join the faculty. Williams has co-authored over 400 research papers focused on reproductive and perinatal epidemiology in North America, sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and South America.
